Whiskey develops and increases in value as it ages in the cask, making purchasing casks a more profitable long-term approach. Once Irish Whiskey is bottled, there will be no change in its flavor, and its age statement refers to the time spent maturing in the cask. Older whiskies command higher prices as they improve over time. Additionally, tax on Whiskey in the bottle is higher per LPA than on spirit in the cask, making cask ownership tax-efficient.
