Purchasing whiskey casks doesn’t mean you need to find storage space for them. Casks must be stored in duty-suspended bonded warehouses. While stored there, you won’t pay excise and duty. These charges come into effect when you wish to bottle the cask. If you don’t plan to bottle your whiskey (common for most cask investors who aim to sell them for a profit to other investors), you won’t need to pay excise and duty at all.
